Website Information

How We Collect Personal Information

We collect information through online registration systems (such as PlayHQ), website contact forms, email correspondence, social media communication, in-person registration forms and volunteer applications.

Where practical, we collect information directly from the individual or parent/guardian.

Why We Collect Personal Information

We collect and use personal information to register players in competitions, allocate players to teams, communicate training and game information, manage competitions and grading, ensure player safety and emergency response, comply with Basketball Victoria and Southern Peninsula Basketball Association (SPBA) requirements, manage volunteers and coaches, maintain club records and send important club updates.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to third parties.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to Southern Peninsula Basketball Association (SPBA), Basketball Victoria, Basketball Australia, PlayHQ (competition management system), coaches and team managers for team administration purposes, and medical personnel in the event of an emergency.

We will not disclose personal information to unrelated third parties unless required or authorised by law.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Information may be stored electronically through secure cloud platforms such as PlayHQ, in password-protected systems and email accounts, and on secure devices used for club administration.

Committee members and volunteers are expected to treat all personal information confidentially and use it only for legitimate club purposes.

Photography and Media

From time to time, the Club may take photographs or video footage of games, training sessions and club events for use on our website, social media platforms and promotional materials.

Parents or guardians may opt out of media use at the time of registration or by notifying the Club in writing.
